Wildland Fire

Frontline Protection
Does protecting life, property and natural resources from wildfires sound like a rewarding career? How about using planned, controlled fire as a natural management tool to restore rare prairie plant communities on which many animals, including endangered species, depend? TVCC's Wildland Fire options help prepare you for this exciting career. Combine your interest in the outdoors and intense physical activity with training to start as a forestry fire technician, wildlife technician or endangered resource technician.
At TVCC, students gain hands-on training needed to manage controlled burns, implement fuels planning, work with fire suppression and more. Our classes are also designed to meet or exceed federal course standards as outlined by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG).

Ready to upgrade your skills?
TVCC is an active partner with local and regional federal and state agencies to provide training opportunities for current agency personnel, private fire contractors and individuals seeking employment as firefighters. Find out how to enroll in these short-term training courses here
